Nothing will wake you up in the morning quite like jumping into a cold pool naked — just ask Elizabeth Olsen.
The Eternity actress, 36, joined comedian Chelsea Handler on a recent episode of her Dear Chelsea podcast where she broke down her morning routine, including her decision to swim au naturel every morning. While the invigorating activity isn't exactly a polar plunge, she said she doesn't heat the pool either.
"I love swimming naked so much... I want to be naked in water all the time. Moving through it. I don't want to just sit in a cold plunge, I want to move through a body of water," she said. "Just for like 3 to 5 minutes, I just slowly swim."
Swimming naked isn't the only meditative habit Olsen has cultivated over the years. She is also a fan of journaling, physically putting pen to paper and writing down her inner thoughts.
"I think there's something that happens when you slow down your brain to write out a word slower than you could type it that I think helps you have new thoughts, like you're not ahead of it," she explained. "It helps me slow down how fast my brain is moving, and sometimes it doesn't work and it's completely scattered thoughts."
The WandaVision star went on to detail her entire routine that she follows to start out each day, noting that she even does a version of the same routine while working.
"I brush my teeth, I make coffee. While it's being made, I jump in the pool," she said. "I do, like, 80-year-old calisthenics afterwards to warm up my body and mobilize and stretch to get blood flow and then I journal with coffee."
On Dear Chelsea, Handler gives out her advice and answers questions sent in by listeners. Often joined by celebrity guests and her co-host Catherine Law, the outspoken comedian gives her honest opinions on a variety of topics like love and sex to loss and family problems, all with the blunt humor and edge she is known for.
