Zara Larsson Details How New 'Crush' May 'Ruin' Her Life

Zara Larsson is getting over her latest crush.

The Swedish singer dropped her newest single "Crush" on Friday (August 15), giving fans another hint at what to expect from her upcoming album Midnight Sun, out September 26. She previously released two other singles for the project earlier this year, "Pretty Ugly" and "Midnight Sun."

In the percussive pop track, Larsson sings about how her new crush will "ruin" her life, as it is just a "fantasy" interrupting the love she shares with the partner she already has. However, that doesn't mean she's not feeling the pain of the not-quite-a-relationship coming to an end.

"Got me wonderin' if it's destiny/ or am I just bein' messy? All I know is I'm lovin' the rush," she sings. "Then it hits me like reality/ I can't lose him to a fantasy/ It ain't heartbreak, but it still hurts enough/ Oh baby, I'm crushed."

In addition to the vocals, Larsson also shared colorful visuals for the single, taken by Charlotte Rutherford, on Instagram that compliment the art for her forthcoming album. In the snaps, she poses along a chainlink fence next to a phone and and trash as a stunning sunset paints the sky in oranges, pinks, purples and blue.
