Cheyenne Frontier Days CANCELLED!

My amazing friends at Cheyenne Frontier days held on to hope for as long as they could at the small chance that the 124th "Daddy of 'em all" would be able to go on as planned.. But sadly it was announced today that in light of the COVID19 Pandemic, the event for 2020 has been cancelled. From the CFD Press Release - “This has been an incredibly difficult decision, but in the end, it was the only choice,” Tom Hirsig, Cheyenne Frontier Days CEO said. “The health and safety of our fans, volunteers, contestants, first responders, healthcare workers and everyone in our community is the only thing that matters right now. The only responsible decision was to put their safety first,” my friend and CFD General Chairman Jimmy Dean Siler added.

CFD holds such a special place in my heart.. Hell I got engaged there 7 years ago in the pouring rain while Thompson Square Sang "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not" opening up for Luke Bryan! Keefer then announced that "she said yes" to a sold out CFD Arena and the rest is history! I know this was such a hard decision for them to make but for the safety of the fans and everyone involved in the shows, it was the right thing to do.

Next year.. The 125th CFD will make us forget all about this crazy year that is 2020.. Bring on 2021 and the return of the Greatest Show and Rodeo in the WORLD! Cheers.
