A jilted wife in Colombia underwent surgery recently after swallowing $7,000 in U.S. bills to get back at her husband for cheating on her. Reuters reports that doctors retrieved 57 $100 bills from the 30-year-old's stomach after she swallowed rolls of cash earned from selling household electrical items to save up for a vacation together. "She ate rolls of bills. They were not wrapped up for any form of illicit transport," says surgeon Juan Pablo Serrano. "It seems it was an act of desperation by this woman, due to the problem she was facing, to ingest these elements, and this of course affects the patient's normal intestinal functioning and life." - A.K.A.
