James Marsden Shares Hilarious, Cringe-Worthy First Crush Story

Happy Valentine’s Day! In honor of the love-filled holiday, Ryan Seacrest and James Marsden took a trip down memory lane when the Sonic the Hedgehog actor stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Friday, February 14.

“I had a crush on my babysitter,” Marsden recalled after Seacrest brought up the LOL-worthy story. “I think I was 11-years-old … and she’d send me on tasks and she’d say ‘Go get me a glass of water’ and I’d run downstairs to the kitchen and get a glass of water and kiss the entire rim on the glass, and without her seeing it obviously, ” he continued. “I’d return the glass to her and she’d take a drink and in my head I was like ‘I kissed her!’”

The hunk of an actor doesn't need to look far for a kiss now and these days is dad to three kids ranging from 19 to 7 and says his latest flick, Sonic the Hedgehog, is the perfect movie for the family to see this weekend.

The live-action take on SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise made headlines when the studio first unveiled the character. After facing backlash for his look, fans sent animators back to the drawing board but the controversy proved the loyalty, Marsden shared.

“I know we’re not supposed to talk about it or whatever but the whole redesign of the character, you know, everyone was like what did you think of that?” he added. “It was 140 million views or whatever it was when it came out. That there were that many people who cared about getting the character right and making him look right … showed how big the fan base for Sonic is which is cool.”
