Megan Thee Stallion looks like she's having the time of her life in Japan. During her recent performance at the Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo over the weekend, the rapper came out dressed as the iconic anime character Sailor Moon. Meg took to Twitter to reshare a photo and added a little update about her time in the country.
"No like you have no ideaaaa how happy I am in Japan," she wrote after the performance. At the musical festival held in Tokyo and Osaka on August 20th and 21st, Meg was joined by other American artists including Post Malone, The 1975, Carly Rae Jepsen, and more.
Megan Thee Stallion has been very vocal about her love for anime since hitting it big with her music. During the early days of the pandemic, the rapper hopped on an Instagram Live video to chat with Crunchyroll's Tim Lyu about her anime favorites.
"I started watching it on Adult Swim. I couldn’t really appreciate it [anime] when I was a kid," she said via Respect-Mag. "I would watch ‘Inuyasha’ all the time…he was a badass and a real softie for his women (but I didn’t appreciate that he went back and forth between women)." And while she may have dressed up as Sailor Moon, Meg had some critiques about the show. "Every time there’s a fight, her boyfriend comes to save the day.”
Earlier in the week, Meg also shared that she went to an exhibit about another series called JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and posted some adorable photos.
